Eric Heath

Eric brings a seasoned 28 years of in-house experience, particularly in privacy, security, software product development, communications, and government affairs. Based in the Bay Area, California, Eric has held various in-house legal leadership roles as Chief Privacy Officer.

Eric began his career in regulatory affairs at Sprint Corp. before transitioning to the tech sector with Yahoo! in 2005. His journey took him to LinkedIn, where he contributed significantly to the company’s success pre- and post-IPO, including a two-year stint in LinkedIn’s international headquarters in Dublin, Ireland. Eric eventually returned to Yahoo! as VP or Privacy Policy and Trust.

Eric continued to make his mark as Chief Privacy Officer with Zenefits, Ancestry, and most recently Placer.ai where he led legal teams and helped companies enhance their privacy risk decision-making and practices before starting his own practice. Eric’s extensive experience includes counseling legal and product teams and leaders, fostering cross-functional relationships, and developing pragmatic processes for privacy and security compliance in an ever-evolving legal landscape.

Eric holds a BA from the University of Notre Dame and a JD from Washburn University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in California and Kansas. Residing in Los Altos, California, Eric enjoys life with his wife and twins. Outside of work, he likes to hike, collect records, and play music.
