Jake Vollebregt
Jake Vollebregt is a partner at Quadrant Law Group, LLP. He represents clients in the finance, technology, real estate, education, and healthcare industries. He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
His practice includes negotiating complex commercial transactions and advising on data privacy, regulatory compliance, risk management, and enterprise information security. As an IAPP-certified privacy professional, he has represented clients in hundreds of matters involving privacy and information security. Jake partners with his client’s departments and business units to lead cross-functional project teams in licensing negotiations, regulatory compliance, data privacy, corporate governance, and dispute resolution. Quadrant’s clients trust Jake to watch out for their best interests, to leverage opportunities, and to identify and mitigate risks. They rely on his commitment to delivering timely and practical advice so they can seize opportunities by making sound decisions rapidly. Jake also has experience in representing clients in trials and mergers and acquisitions, advising on litigation management, performing investigations, and providing counsel on regulatory compliance, strategic and operational planning, government contracting, bankruptcy and reorganizations, taxation, stock buybacks, corporate administration and governance, and leasing and other real estate transactions.
Prior to joining Quadrant, Jake served as a public law attorney for public agencies in California, both in house and as outside counsel. As in-house counsel, he served as director of regional and legal affairs. His responsibilities included interagency litigation, claims, shared infrastructure, legislative and government affairs, grants, contracting and procurement, and external relations. As outside counsel, Jake represented municipalities, water districts, joint powers authorities, and other public agencies as deputy city attorney and deputy general counsel. He advised cities and developers on land use planning and zoning approvals, CEQA/environmental compliance, development agreements, ordinances, permits, public meetings, elections, public records, tort claims, real estate transactions, ethics, political law, and public policy.
Jake began served as a judge advocate and intelligence officer in the United States Marine Corps. His assignments included trials, operational law, investigations, operational and intelligence/ISR planning, ethics, legal assistance, fiscal law and appropriations, regulatory compliance, contracting, claims, and classified evidence handling.
Jake Vollebregt received his Juris Doctor with a Certificate in Taxation from Chapman University Fowler School of Law. As a Marine officer, Jake was awarded a Master of Science in Strategic Intelligence from the National Intelligence University (Office of the Director of National Intelligence). He is a graduate of Marine Corps University’s Command & Staff College and Expeditionary Warfare School. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Gonzaga University.
He lives in San Antonio with his wife and four children.
