Thomas Hornbaker

Thomas joined Quadrant Law Group in January 2019. He has over twenty years of experience practicing law, spanning in-house and ‘big law’ as well as experience in management consulting and finance.

Thomas has extensive experience advising clients across a variety of sectors, with particular emphasis on the financial services, commercial real estate, hospitality, technology, power & renewable energy, and general industrial sectors. His practice is generally focused on corporate and commercial real estate financing transactions, advising early stage companies and private equity. Thomas regularly advises companies as “outside” general counsel, and has represented clients in a wide range of geographies including Europe, South America and the Middle East. 

Previously, Thomas was General Counsel at TPG Real Estate Finance, a commercial mortgage REIT affiliated with TPG Global, a private equity firm. At TPG, Thomas managed the legal needs of all aspects of the business, including corporate governance, shareholder matters, equity and debt fundraising, compliance, policy and new business development, transaction execution, and vendor management.

Prior to TPG, Thomas worked at Deutsche Bank and Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in New York. He began his legal career at Shearman & Sterling LLP, where he worked in the firm’s New York and Paris offices. He graduated from Boston College Law School, where he was an editor of the Boston College International & Comparative Law Review. Prior to law school, Thomas worked for National Westminster Bank and the Security Pacific Saving Bank, a Bank of America affiliate.
